VACANCY: Chief Executive Officer

VACANCY CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER

The Antigua and Barbuda Airport Authority (ABAA) invites applications for the position of Chief Executive Officer (CEO) at the V.C. Bird International Airport (VCBIA).

ABAA is responsible for the management and operations of both V.C. Bird International Airport and Barbuda International Airport, ensuring safety, efficiency, and world-class service in compliance with international aviation standards.

Key Responsibilities:
Provide strategic leadership and oversight to ensure alignment with the Authority’s mission and vision.
Develop and implement Board-approved policies, plans, and operational strategies.
Ensure compliance with national, regional, and international aviation regulations and standards.
Oversee financial performance, budgeting, and resource allocation.
Lead airport modernisation, infrastructure, and development initiatives.
Foster a culture of safety, accountability, and service excellence.
Build and maintain strong relationships with government ministries, regulators, unions, and industry partners.
Represent the Authority at local, regional, and international meetings, conferences, and forums.

Minimum Qualifications & Experience:
Bachelor’s in Business Administration, Aviation Management, Public Administration, or a related discipline.
10–15 years of progressively responsible experience in aviation, transportation, or a comparable leadership environment.
Proven expertise in strategic planning, financial management, and stakeholder relations.
Completion of or active enrollment in the Airport Management Professional Accreditation Programme (AMPAP) will be considered a strong asset.
Strong knowledge of aviation regulatory bodies (MOCA, ECCAA, ICAO).
Demonstrated ability to lead in high-pressure and complex environments.
