Antigua and Barbuda advanced to the semifinals of the Caribbean Football Union (CFU) Men’s Under-14 Challenge Series following a come from behind 3-1 win over the Turks & Caicos Islands in their final Tier II, Group C fixture in the Dominican Republic on Wednesday.
Playing at the Cap Cana Sports City, the young Benna Boys fell behind early in the first half after Turks & Caicos Islands netted in the second minute. Antigua and Barbuda however drew level 23 minutes later when what appeared to be an intended cross from Leyland Powell, eluded the opponent’s goalkeeper and fell into the far end of the goal.
Coming out of the interval at 1-1, Antigua and Barbuda took the lead in minute 53 when Kalique Martin scored from the penalty spot. Tevon Henderson put the game beyond doubt when he scored from just inside the area in the dying stages.
The win was Antigua and Barbuda’s third in as many matches in Group C following a 2-1 victory over Dominica in their previous game and a 3-2 win over the Cayman Islands in their opening fixture.
The semifinals schedule is expected to be posted on Thursday.

The team is coached by Auchland Jarvis while Rolston Phoenix travels as assistant coach with Oscar Lake as goalkeeper coach. McLean Lawrence is the team’s physiotherapist with Karanja Mack as equipment coordinator and Karil Knight as safeguard officer. Ian Bailey heads the delegation as team manager.
